How much does a Chicago wedding videographer cost?

By Love & Moore5 min read
Home / The Journal / How Much Does a Chicago Wedding Videographer Cost?

Search "Chicago wedding videographer" and most studio sites show beautiful films and no prices. You fill out a form, wait for a PDF, and only then learn if they're in your budget. We read the public pricing of the top Chicago wedding video studios in November 2026 so you don't have to. Here's what a wedding film really costs in Chicago, what changes the price, and where we sit.

The Short Answer

Among the Chicago studios that publish prices, a full-day wedding film (6 to 8 hours of coverage) starts around $1,200 to $2,900. The packages most couples end up booking land between $1,500 and $4,000, and top tiers with two videographers, drone and longer films run $4,500 to $5,400. A short ceremony-only package still starts near $1,800 at some studios. About half the studios we checked don't show any price at all, and those tend to sit higher.

What Changes the Price

  • Hours of coverage. The biggest factor. Most packages run 6 to 10 hours; extra hours usually cost $150 to $250 each.
  • How many videographers. One videographer is common on entry packages. Two (more angles, nothing missed during the ceremony) is what pushes a package toward the top tier.
  • What you get back. A highlight film is usually 3 to 10 minutes. Some packages add a full ceremony and speeches edit, a 15 to 20 minute feature, or a long cut of an hour or more.
  • Drone and 4K. Often a top-tier extra or a paid add-on.
  • Raw footage. Included on some top packages, sold separately on others, not mentioned at all on many.
  • Delivery time. Where studios say it at all, 3 to 8 weeks for a first edit is typical. Many don't put a date in writing.

Questions That Keep the Price Honest

  • How long is the highlight film, and is there a longer film too?
  • How many videographers and cameras will be there?
  • What does an extra hour cost on the day?
  • Is raw footage included, sold, or not offered?
  • When will we get the film, and is that date in the contract?

For the full checklist, read questions to ask before you book.
